Unexplored Cultural Treasure<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mound is located in the area of \u200b\u200bthe village of Maradik, in a place called Unka, about 2,350 meters northwest of the village. Its diameter is about 30 meters, and its height is 4.5 meters. During field research, surface remains of human bones were found on it, while traces of a settlement belonging to the Eneolithic (Baden-Kostolac group) and probably of the Early Iron Age were found on the surrounding plots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is considered that Slavonia and Srem are areas in which the Kostolac Style and Kostolac Culture originated. The Kostolac Culture, in contrast to its genetic predecessor – the Baden culture, which was mainly agricultural, built solid above-ground objects of a more permanent nature, which were renewed several times. The houses were rectangular, large, from 40 to 60 square meters. Traditions were inherited in the way of construction (Vin\u010da sites). The floor was massive, packed, polished, the walls were made of wicker, covered with mud. The population was engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
