Old Cemetery
Open-air Museum
The Old Cemetery in Krčedin is located northeast of the village, next to the new one. There are 200-300 sandstone tombstones in the cemetery, mostly from the 19th century and a smaller number of red marble ones that are of a more recent date. The inscriptions on them are mostly illegible, or have been completely erased by the ravages of time. However, based on some indications, it can be assumed that a smaller number of monuments originate from the second half of the 18th century (2-3 monuments show the year 17…).
Since the cemetery as a whole is almost completely preserved, which is almost a unique case, or in any case a rarity on the territory of Vojvodina, it was placed under protection of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in 1971.
