In Novi Slankamen, on February 7, 2026, the traditional 23rd Jackal Hunt Event (Šakalijada) was held, a manifestation that gathers a large number of hunters, guests, and nature lovers every year. This year’s event had special significance as it also marked a major jubilee – 100 years of existence and work of the Hunting Association “Fazan” – Novi Slankamen.
Throughout an entire century of its existence, the hunting association “Fazan” has represented one of the important pillars of tradition and social life in Novi Slankamen. Through generations of hunters, values such as unity, respect for nature, and preservation of hunting traditions have been nurtured, making this organization an essential part of the identity of the place and the local community.
This year’s 23rd Šakalijada gathered a large number of participants and guests from different parts of Serbia and the region. The event took place in the spirit of good organization, friendship, and a positive atmosphere, confirming the importance of such manifestations that preserve tradition and bring people together around shared values.
